And people say we monkey around

Well, folks, its time to cross another lifelong goal off of the list. Yep, my first ever, monkey-in-the-wild sighting took place today. YIPPPEEEE! (Yesterday, I was staring into the Tamarind trees beyond our deck pining for a monkey viewing and I was able to see a little guy's tail scamper quickly away and I knew that with patience I would be able to eventually see a REAL MONKEY). Then, today, we went for a long drive in our complimentary Pathfinder (weird?) to a place called Turtle Beach and on the way we spotted a troupe of adorable monkeys scrambling around on the brush-laden hillsides!!! The monkey fun didn't stop, it multiplied, when luckily we happened onto a tropical bar/miracle/tourist trap that put out a bowl of sweet nectar, apparently a semi-tame wild monkeys fav food. The monkeys that inhabit St. Kitts and Nevis are called green velvet monkeys. They are a smaller monkey first introduced to the island as pets during the French colonial conquest. Sweeeet!
